revolution

i long to travel
to everywhere you've been
and learn the reasons for
the sparkle in your eye,
the scent on your skin,
the depth of your laugh.
i love these places all
despite knowing none,
for they held you
nurtured you
changed you
while i could not
and moved you back
toward me
once the earth
finished
spinning.
